University choir and orchestra lead staff in Christmas service

The annual Aston University carol service

The annual Aston University carol service took place yesterday in the upper foyer of the Main Building.

Staff and students from throughout the University joined together to sing Christmas carols and to listen to music and readings given by key members of staff and students. The service was led by the Aston University Music Society and the Aston University Choir who performed with passion and enthusiasm to create a wonderful festive atmosphere amongst the 100 or so staff and students who attended the service.

There were some traditional favourites such as 'Oh Little Town of Bethlehem' and 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing' and some not so traditional renditions of 'All I Want for Christnmas is You' and the 'Gladiator' theme tune. Great fun was had by all!

Mince pies and spiced fruit punch were on offer to all following the service.

A lovely way to get into the festive spirit!
