CaféTierra unveiled as name for new food court

Ground floor catering project

After receiving over 200 entries for the Food Court naming competition, Aspects is delighted to announce that the name chosen by Prof Julia King, Vice Chancellor, is CaféTierra.

The name is not only a play on the word 'cafeteria' but 'tierra' means earth, ground, homeland which fits perfectly with the main aim of the project, to bring the dining facilities to the ground floor as well as reinforcing the healthy and fresh eating options within the new eateries. The name was submitted by Daniel Welch, a first year student studying Human Biology. Daniel is the lucky winner of a year’s free coffee and will be presented with the prize when CaféTierra opens in January.

A huge thank you to everyone who submitted a name. The new logo is being finalised with the Marketing department and will be posted on the website shortly.
