The University has successfully completed the Silver phase of the EcoCampus Environmental Management System. The Silver Award focused on implementing the systems and procedures developed during Bronze phase and it involved many different people across the University – thank you and congratulations to everybody involved!
EcoCampus is a system that covers the entire University and is designed to improve environmental performance and management; it is equivalent to the ISO14001 accreditation system and has been tailored specifically for universities. The Silver Award is the second phase of the scheme, which the University has been working towards since achieving the Bronze award back in March. The Silver Award was achieved at the start of November after an on-site audit conducted by the EcoCampus team.
Ambitious targets have now been set to achieve the Gold Award next spring and then the Platinum Award (the higgest Award) by the end of 2011. To achieve this Aston will need the support and involvement of all staff and students so please keep up the good work!
