You may have noticed the distinctive scent of chocolate around campus over the last couple of weeks… 'More Cocoa' have been setting up camp in the Guild lobby, selling their Fairtrade chocolate cakes, brownies and hot chocolate.
More Cocoa incorporate Fairtrade cocoa into all of their handmade chocolate cakes along with ethically traded cocoa that is used to produce the chocolate used for cakes, desserts, hot chocolate and fondue. Currently, all the cocoa they use is farmed in Ghana, the world’s largest cocoa producer.
Aston University Fairtrade Group is working together with More Cocoa to promote Fairtrade here at Aston. Aston is already a Fairtrade certified University, selling Fairtrade tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks around campus, as well as ensuring that hospitality and catering use Fairtrade products where possible.
If you’d like to give Fairtrade a try, More Cocoa will be back on campus every Tuesday until Christmas (perfect for a Christmas treat, or even as a gift!) or pop into one of our catering outlets.
