EAS receives cheque from Lord Mayor's Charity Appeal 2009/10

Trevor Oliver receiving the cheque from the Lord Mayor on behalf of EAS

Dr Trevor Oliver was invited to the Lord Mayor's Parlour last Friday, 15 October, to receive a cheque on behalf of the School of Engineering & Applied Science.

Each year the Lord Mayor of Birmingham is the figurehead of a charity appeal, and last year's Lord Mayor, Councillor Michael Wilkes, selected the Lord Mayor's Engineering Scholarships as one of the beneficiaries. This has resulted in all three Birmingham Universities receiving £6,000 each, some of which is to be allocated to the Formula Student projects, and the remainder of which is to be used for the benefit or encouragement of students from Birmingham in the study of mechanical engineering.
