Aston BUCS News - 2nd November 2016

BUCS
As we move into November every game is crucial for our teams, as they attempt to pick up every point on offer before the Christmas break. The pressure was on this week for our Aston teams to perform and improve on last weeks results. They didn't disappoint - only losing 3 out of a total of nine games with mens football winning each of the games, scoring 5 goals in each fixture.

The stand out performance this week was rugby's 50-7 win against UCB first. This win makes it 4 out of 4 for the first team. A fantastic start to the season, and a start we are all hoping they can continue as they push for promotion. Down at the recreational ground the mens 1st and 3rd football teams were in action against Nottingham Trent 3rd and De Montfort 4th respectively.  With the firsts winning 5-3 and the thirds winning 5-1 it was an exciting week for mens football, and a week which proves the hard work Shaun and the team have put in is starting to pay off. The news of these results must have traveled, as the 2nd team also put in a strong performance, defeating UCB 2nd 5-1.

In other results mens badminton comfortably defeating a strong UoB 3rd side 7-1. A performance which finally demonstrates the hard work of the mens badminton team, as they get there first win and finally get some points on the board in the Midlands 2A division. Netball 2nds were also in action this week, as they traveled to Loughborough to play their 5ths. Sadly Loughborough were too much for Aston as they went home winners 92-11.

This week was a fantastic set of results for Aston, a set of results we can be extremely proud of and look to improve on. With many more fixtures ahead of us it is looking like an exciting few weeks ahead for Aston!
