Course: 2nd Year Law with Management
Highest Sporting Achievement: Representing Cannock Hockey Club in the Midlands league.
Daniel Bosi is a Hockey player while studying Law with Management. Daniel is playing for Cannock Hockey Club reserves and is aiming to make it into the 1st team who play in the Premier Division. Daniel has also been selected for England Hockey’s Junior Regional Performance Centre
Course: 1st Year English Language
Highest Sporting Achievement: Played for Oxfordshire Senior team.
Jessie O’Higgins is a Netball player and studies English Language. Jessie played Oxfordshire County netball for 2 years and then joined the senior team to play in a South region league. She is now playing for the Panthers first team representing Aston University in the BUCS league.
Course: 1st Year Finance
Highest Sporting Achievement: 1st place in the 2011 17 to 21 badminton Championships beating York in the Final.
Chris Williams is a Badminton player studying Finance. Chris has represented Staffordshire County at the under 21 National County Championships where they succeeded in coming first and Chris won his match in the final. He is now competing on the senior badminton circuit where he has reached a number of finals and semi-finals. This year Chris has been representing Aston University as part of the Badminton club and has helped them gain a promotion to the Midlands 3A league.
Course: PhD Engineering
Highest Sporting Achievement: 1st in the British Army Snowboarding Championships 2012.
Mohsan Hussain is a Snowboarder who is studying for a PhD in Engineering. Mohsan came third in the British Army Snowboarding Championships freestyle event in 2011 and 19th in the BUCS Championships in 2011. So far this year he came 1st in the British Army Snowboarding Championships and is currently competing in the BUCS Main Event out in Saalbach, Austria. He has been heavily involved in the Snow Sports Club at Aston University and has helped it grow its numbers and provide coaching for its members.
Sport: Water Polo
Course: MSc International Business
Highest Sporting Achievement: Winning the Hungarian National U-18 Championship. Twice!
Daniel Laczko is a Water Polo player and is also studying for and MSc in International Business. Daniel has been a member of the Hungarian under 19 National squad. Since starting at Aston University Daniel has been playing and training with the Aston Water Polo Team who have been able to use the newly refurbished pool at the Doug Ellis Woodcock Sports Centre for their home matches. Daniel is currently the highest scoring player in the country and the Aston Water Polo team have been very successful so far.
Course: 2nd Year Management and Strategy
Highest Sporting Achievement: 2nd at the Bulgarian Championships in singles and 1st in doubles.
Dessislava Lazarova is a Tennis Player from Bulgaria who is studying for a BSc in Management and Strategy. Dessi is also the Tennis Capitan this year. She has represented the Bulgarian national team and was also playing at Levski-Sofia before starting here at Aston University. Dessi has played in and won many prestigious international tournaments. Last year Dessi managed to reach the finals of the BUCS Tennis competition. This year she has reached the finals again and will be playing her match on the 15th March hoping to be crowned champion this time. Whilst here during term time – she is also playing at Edgbaston Priory Tennis Club.
Course: 2nd Year Business and Computer Science
Highest Sporting Achievement: Represented University Queensland in 2012 semi-final at Ballymore Stadium.
Henry Clarke is a Rugby player studying Combined Honours Business and Computer Science. Henry has been representing Staffordshire Under 20’s and Burton RFC as a number 8 and has become a star player for the Aston University team in his first season with them. Henry has also represented the University of Queensland in Australia when he enrolled onto their summer academy in 2010.
Sport: Table Tennis
Highest Sporting Achievement: British Colleges Champion.
Dashuai Zhang is a Table Tennis player studying a Mathematics degree. Dash is currently aiming to break into the top 10 table tennis players in England. He has previously won the Junior Premier Division and represented England Schools in the International Schools Championships.
