Facts and Figures (Student Data)

For further information please email: registry_planning@aston.ac.uk

Each year, all UK universities make a data return of student activity to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).  Below you'll find profiles of Aston's student population from 2005/6 upto 2009/0 (the latest published data year).

Please make sure you read the accompanying notes before using this data set.  There are some changes to data 2007/8 onwards.

You may also find the following links to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) web-site helpful.

Please note, some content on the HESA web-site is only available when you are browsing from within a “ac.uk” domain, so you may see more information when using a university computer lab PC, than you would see if you are working off-campus.

Aston "December Statistics" Summaries

The "December Statistics" are so called because they are a snap-shot of Aston's student population as at the 1st December census date in each academic year.

The numbers include an element of forecasting to take account of any late starting cohorts, and student withdrawals estimated for the year.  Because of this element of forecasting, the December Statistics will always vary from the HESA data (above), although both datasets should be broadly similar.
