How to prepare and make the most out of your open day

Make the most of the Open Day

1. Bring the right stuff

Whether it's an introductory talk or a course session, keep a pen and paper handy and note down the important stuff.

2. Make sure you have the right company

Some find it useful to bring family along as they normally think of questions that you wouldn’t. Bring along your mum, dad, brother, sister or BFF, the more the merrier!

3. Get your times right

You should receive a breakdown of the day beforehand, make sure you look through this and keep it with you. This way you know what sessions you want to attend and at what time - you don’t want to be late!

4. Take in the environment

Take a guided tour of campus with one of our Student Ambassadors, get the low down on the best place to grab some lunch, have quiet study time, meet with your friends for a drink or simply the shortcuts to lectures!

5. Explore Birmingham

You’re in the UK’s 2nd biggest city, it’s beautiful, green and there's lots to do! You can indulge in retail therapy at the Bullring or a spot of lunch along the city's many canals. We're sure our Student Ambassadors will tell you the places to go!

6. Ask away

Don’t be scared, we’re here to help! There is no such thing as a silly question. Ask our academics, admissions teams or Student Ambassadors on the things that matter to you. You can also use #AstonOpenDay and the social media team will be on hand to help you out!

7. Have fun

We don't need to explain that one!
