The funding will also provide an annual subsidy for University projects that support enhancements in the fields of health, education, social development and innovation.

Regional talent development will benefit also, with degree apprenticeships for Wesleyan staff to complete an Executive Apprenticeship MBA as well as guest lectures, work experience and knowledge sharing on innovation projects between the two partners.

The £250,000 partnership is part funded by the Wesleyan Foundation, set up to support community-based initiatives in partnership with the Heart of England Community Foundation.

Nathan Wallis, Head of Corporate Communications and Engagement said: “Developing the next generation of talent is critical to the future of the Midlands and that’s why we’re proud to have partnered with Aston University. This partnership allows us to support a local university which is investing in and developing talent in key regional sectors and those close to the heart of all at Wesleyan.
