Adedeji, 27, submitted an idea in the "Future of Digital Authentication" category and is delighted to have been selected as a finalist to take part in the next stage.
Big Ideas was created by Santander to help identify ways to overcome some of the key technological issues currently facing the financial industry. The aim is to help individuals identify and develop solutions with participants retaining ownership of their work.
There is a total prize fund of £20,000 up for grabs with the three overall category winners winning £5,000 each.
As a finalist, Adedeji will now have the opportunity to work with Santander's innovation team to develop his idea to prototype stage, before presenting it to Santander's senior and executive teams in London on 21st March.
Adedeji's proposal offered a potential solution to the challenge set by Santander in the Future of Digital Authentication category - how can banks provide strong security for customers performing transactions in the digital world?
With e-commerce a huge market in Europe and worldwide, and online retail sales in the UK alone standing at over £500 billion, Adedeji proposes a new two-factor authentication process for online transactions. The proposal combines user spending analytics with facial recognition software to offer additional security for both banks and customers.
Adedeji is now enjoying the exclusive opportunity to work directly with the Santander innovation team, and develop a prototype based on his ideas. He said:
