CEO of lastminute.com: ‘brand transformation in digital age’ lecture

The CEO of lastminute.com, Matthew Crummack, is to deliver the annual Maclaren Lecture at Aston University examining the development of brand transformation in the digital age.

Matthew, an Aston University Business and French graduate, will draw upon his experience at lastminute.com, and from his international sales and marketing experience at global companies Procter & Gamble, Nestle and Expedia.  Matthew’s talk will explore how brands and companies need to continually challenge themselves in the fast-moving digital age to remain relevant to their customers.

The MacLaren lecture, organised jointly between Aston University and the Chartered Management Institute is free and open to all. It will be held at The Sumpner Lecture Theatre, Aston University Main Building, on Thursday 14th May commencing at 6:30pm. Registration opens at 5:30pm for networking and refreshments.

The MacLaren Memorial Lecture is an annual event held jointly by Aston University and the Chartered Management Institute. The event has run since 1953, and has attracted major speakers from business and industry, including Sir John Harvey Jones, Chris Bonnington, Lord David Sainsbury and our own emeritus Chancellor, Sir Adrian Cadbury. It commemorates the life of James MacLaren, one of the most eminent industrialists in Birmingham’s history. MacLaren was one of the founder members of the Birmingham branch of the Chartered Management Institute and was the first chair of the Birmingham College of Technology, an antecedent of Aston University. He was particularly known for developing links between industry and education.
