Chris Palmer, a Business and Modern Languages graduate, and life-long friend, Adam Bubb, have developed Razormale - a cheap online subscription service providing customers with replacement blades via mail for £5 per month.
The business entrepreneurs created the company after a perceived gap in the market for a low cost cheap shaving alternative. The team’s business development process including learning how to write code for website design and sourcing and testing over 50 different products.

Chris said; “We were fed up paying so much money for the privilege of shaving. We thought we could form a company that gave better value for money and looked into the possibility. We believe we can undercut the prices of rival leading brands by half and tested many products to ensure we didn’t sacrifice quality.
He added; “It’s a really competitive industry and it will be tough to convince consumers to switch from brands they’ve been using for many years, but we believe we are fairly unique to the UK with most subscription services like ours based in the United States.”
The team is currently focused on developing its Razormale brand to male customers and is hoping to eventually start a line women’s razors and further shaving products in the future.
Chris, who graduated in 2012, believes his degree was vital in providing the essential skills needed to launch his business – everything from accounting through to operations management.
Other entrepreneurial Aston graduates establishing companies this year include Mat Dusting and Jennifer Duthie who have both received recognition for their start-up enterprises, M-24 and Skribbies. They both reached the final of this year’s Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur Award.
