The Aston Student Charter, which has been developed and written in conjunction with the Aston Students’ Guild, makes a commitment to partnership between students and university, with the student experience at the forefront of all that happens at Aston.
The Aston Student Charter picks up on the themes that make Aston a special place to study and work, such as its commitment to social mobility, the integrated placement year and a real focus on graduate employability.
At a time of significant changes in Higher Education, students rightly have high expectations of their University experience. They have a right to know how they will learn, how they will be supported, and what they themselves will need to do to achieve their full potential. The Aston Student Charter will help ensure every Aston student can enjoy an outstanding and inspirational education, fully informed by the key information they need.
Merghani ‘Mega’ Ibrahim, President of the Students’ Guild says ‘I welcome and support the Student Charter. Students want clear information and transparency about their courses, and their relationship with the University, so they can make the most of their time at Aston. This is a great big step in the right direction’.
The Aston Student Charter is broken down into seven sections covering:
Learning and Teaching on your course
Learning and Study Facilities
Personal Development and Employability
Representation, Advice, Wellbeing and Community Engagement
Complaints, Appeals and Discipline
