Aston University graduate Nicolas Holzherr was last week awarded the title of Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 by Insider Magazine.
The award followed Nicolas recently being named as one of the “42 under 42” by the magazine; an annual feature profiling 42 young entrepreneurs in the region under the age of 42.
At just 24, Nicolas has already established two profitable business ideas. The first – QRky – uses Quick Response (QR) barcode technology to link contact details and multimedia information to high quality business cards. Co-Go Coffee is the other; an innovative four-metre tall coffee cup shaped pod that provides quality coffee to on the go consumers. Co-Go has proved immensity popular on the Aston University campus, their first location.
QRky is also going from strength to strength. “The next few weeks are really exciting for us as we are taking on two new members of staff into our QRky team” Nicolas commented. His business has been supported in the E4F business incubator over the past 6 months as well as receiving the Business Feasibility Grant from the City Council. “Without all the support from Aston University, the Aston Science Park and the Birmingham City Council, we would not be where we are today”, he added.
Nicolas’ QRky business cards can be purchased from www.qrky.co.uk.
