Aston Welcomes New Students

Students on campus at Aston

Welcome to the new 2013/14 intake.
Congratulations on your exam results, here's a guide on what happens next.

Keep an eye on your email

We will communicate with you via email over the next few weeks, so please keep an eye on your email for some important communication.

Your school

Your school will be in touch to confirm some details.  Look out for a welcome email that will arrive soon.

Reading lists

Some courses publish reading lists in advance of term, others don't - you'll be informed by email if yours is available.  If you don't get a reading list you don't need to worry, one will be provided when you enrol.

Timetables

Your timetable will be provided when you arrive, it will be found in the My Aston Portal - MAP is the online resource that brings together a lot of the key information you need.  you'll be given log on details when you join us.

Enrolment

Enrolment is very important - it's how you formally join Aston and how we register you for key services like the library, sports centre and health services.

You'll be contacted soon, by email, and don't need to contact us to discuss.

Accommodation - what next?

If you would like to live on campus you'll have to confirm your place.  Make sure you check your email, you only have 7 days to accept your place or you risk missing out on your place in on campus accommodation.
Joining us through clearing?  You are still able to secure a place in our safe, convenient and contemporary on-campus accommodation.

When you arrive

Welcome week

When you arrive at Aston there will be a packed program of events to help you find your feet.  You will need to bring a few things (such as ID) but your school will outline all of this in their communication to you.

Here's a bit more information on Welcome Week and what's on during Freshers' Week.

Moving in and settling in

Moving to university can be daunting.  Aston is a very relaxed and welcoming environment, and we have a lot of activities and support in place for new students.  Here are a few tips and a bit of information on moving in and settling in.

In time for your arrival Aston will be launching our first smart phone app.  Supporting Android, iOS and Blackberry it will be a great way to getting information about settling in at Aston.  It combines virtual learning tools, maps, travel info, timetables and all kinds of useful bits of info.

It launches soon.  Register here for an alert when it goes live.
