What to bring

Your place is confirmed, accommodation is sorted, now there’s only one thing left to sort… your bags!

When you are moving out of home for the first time, we know there is a huge temptation to bring everything you own! However, it's better to be fairly ruthless with what you bring and what you leave. To help you do this, we have put together a list of the essential things that you will need...

Make sure you check the Enrolment Guide for full details for all the paperwork you may need to bring for Enrolment.

  • Duvet and pillow (including covers)
  • Bed sheets
  • Coat hangers
  • Laptop (including leads and chargers)
  • UK plug adapters (if applicable)
  • Alarm clock

 

  • Plates, bowls and mugs x 2 each
  • Cutlery (Knives, forks & spoons)
  • Pots and pans (not too many!)
  • Glasses (Tall & tumbler sized)
  • Kitchen essentials (Tin opener, peeler, chopping board)

 

  • Towels (Bath and hand)
  • Toiletries (shower gel, shampoo and nail clippers, etc.)
  • Hair products (Hair brush etc.)
  • Small Sewing kit/First Aid kit
  • Toilet Roll

 

  • Course text books
  • Dictionary/ Translation material
  • Notepad and stationery
  • Calculator (you may need this to balance your budget too!)
  • USB stick

 

  • Your documentation list (available to download at the top of the page)
  • Mobile Phone and Charger
  • Toothbrush and Toothpaste
  • Medication/Prescriptions
  • Photographs of family and friends
  • Ear plugs (you don't want to be the person who says "turn the volume down!")
  • Contents Insurance (recommended)
