Although the notion of a “native speaker” is a social construct it is widely used as a linguistic term, particularly in the area of Applied  Linguistics. In this seminar, specialists in the area of smaller, lesser used languages will discuss the implications the ideology of “native speakerism” on efforts to maintain endangered languages.
