The School of Languages and Social Sciences (LSS) is pleased to announce the 1st Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Conference (IPC).

The aim of the IPC is to bring together LSS postgraduate students, both on-campus and distance learners (through Skype), and offer an intellectually motivating and supportive platform for the exchange of ideas. The IPC will be based on the theme of making research available to the wider world.

interdisciplinary PG conference

Postgraduate students from the four academic subject areas represented in the school will present in one of the following formats:

  • Classic Presentation - 20 minute presentation, followed by Q&A session after presentations.

  • Mini Presentation - 5 minute presentation with a maximum of five PowerPoint slides.

  • Poster Presentation - displayed throughout the IPC, with the opportunity to discuss posters with other delegates.

The IPC will also include contributions from keynote speakers Professor Anne Burns – Director of the Centre for Language Education Research at Aston, Professor Gertrud Reershemius – Associate Dean for Research, and Prof John Gaffney - Co-Director of the Aston Centre for Europe.

Following the IPC, abstracts and selected exemplary contributions will be published on the Aston University LSS IPC webpage in a new Working Paper Series.
