Activities Summaries:

French = Sustainable developments

The class will start with a brainstorming on environmental issues (LO: develop / strengthen vocab related to the environment). Students will then be introduced to the notion of sustainable development (development durable) and and will be asked to work in groups to create a project and present it very briefly at the end of the session.

German = Alles neu? Renewable energy

In this session, students will develop a sound understanding of the role renewable energy plays in Germany's overall environmental policy. First, we will pool existing awareness and knowledge of issues and vocab related to energy (especially renewables), followed by various activities centred around the changing energy landscape in Germany (Energiewende).

German Ab-Initio = Let’s talk about the environment

In this session, students will work with authentic German materials to develop simple vocabulary and structures used to talk about environmental issues. No prior knowledge of German necessary – you will be surprised how much you can do after one hour!

Spanish = Sustainable Development in Latin America

In this session, students will receive a general overview of what sustainable development exactly is. Group conversations will allow finding out what students already do in their daily lives to live in a sustainable way and how they could with minor changes improve lives of future generations. The second part of the class will include activities linked to specific projects of sustainable development in Latin America.

Spanish Ab-Initio = Tourism in Cuba

This session will focus on the vocabulary that one might need when travelling to a Caribbean country such as Cuba. Students will develop knowledge of basic expressions related to travels and will practice basic conversations useful in such a context.

Arabic / Chinese = Taster Sessions

These taster sessions are aimed for students with no previous knowledge of the language.
