Group Study

There are group study spaces on ground and second floors of the Library.  Using the large tables or the comfortable seating areas, you can work in groups to discuss your assignments, prepare presentations and plan tasks.  Feel free to use the whiteboards provided to make notes of your discussions.

  • To avoid disturbing other students, please switch your phones to silent mode as you go upstairs and only use your phones on the ground floor or on the stairwells.
  • Please remember that smoking is not permitted in the Library.
  • Food and drink can be consumed on the ground floor, but not on the upper floors. Cafe Libro, on the ground floor, sells a range of light snacks and drinks but hot food must not be brought into the Library.

Group Study Rooms

There are 2 group study rooms on ground floor and a further 3 rooms on second floor.

L208 and L209 on second floor can be booked for 2 hour slots between 09:00 -17:00, Monday - Friday.

Single Silent Study

3rd floor is for single silent study only. If you need to talk to someone, please move to a group study area or to the stairwell.

1st floor (excluding Learning Development Centre) is for single silent study during the third term examination period.

If you are working in a silent study area and are disturbed by noise from other students, please contact a member of Library staff who will deal with the problem as soon as they can.  You can text an attendant on 0121 204 4489 for assistance.

Thank you for helping to maintain a pleasant and effective study environment.
