I qualified as an Optometrist in 2009. In 2010, I went on to study an MSc in Investigative Ophthalmology and Vision at The University of Manchester. On graduating I joined the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences at Cardiff University in 2012 to conduct my PhD research in paediatric optometry funded by The College of Optometrists. This led to a postdoctoral position in 2015 in the same university. During my time in Cardiff I continued with my clinical practice working as an Optometrist in the Special Assessment Clinic, where I provided eye care to children and adults with special needs.
In 2017, I joined Aston Optometry School as a Lecturer in Optometry, where I currently base my clinical work and my research.
My main research interests are visual development in children and in particular in children with special needs and eye care needs of children and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.
