Teachers

teacher

First of all, we’d like to say thank you for helping us with our research. Our work would not be possible without your support.

Our main request is that you tolerate brief absences from your class of individual children while we conduct the assessments. Please communicate directly with the research assistants if there are times when you do not wish this to happen.

Here, you can access our teacher information sheet which explains more about what the project involves for teachers.

Tasks

For a description of all the tasks that we will administer to the children, see table of tasks.

Feedback

Results of the reading and Maths tasks will be fed-back to teachers. Feedback will show the distribution of scores for each class, not individual children. Scores are standardised so that you can see how your class is performing in comparison to the general UK population. There are four reading tests: non-word, exception word and regular word reading, plus letter-sound knowledge, and one Maths test: early number concepts.

Here, you can access an example of a phase 1 teacher feedback report

from first term of Reception, or a phase 2 teacher feedback report from the spring term of Year 2.
