Aims of this module

The module will cover the detection, assessment and holistic management of patients with visual impairment. The published evidence for different approaches to low vision rehabilitation will be examined along with how they might be implemented in practice. The most common conditions causing low vision will be discussed, concentrating on how and what information should be communicated to patients and their carers. The assignment will allow candidates to apply learnt theories to practice or to investigate the evidence basis for a chosen aspect of visual impairment.
