Course Types

We offer a variety of different course types:

Varying from skills workshops to blended learning programmes involving distance learning, these courses are non-credit bearing

Credit bearing modules which may be taken alone or in alongside other modules

An undergraduate level qualification for those that have already obtained a degree

Courses delivered by Aston University to prepare you for professional examinations, such as those required to join the GOC Therapeutics Register for Independent Prescribing

Known as a PgCert, this is a 60 credit masters level qualification

Known as a PgDip, this is a 120 credit masters level qualification

Known as an MSc, this is a 180 credit masters level qualification, typically involving a research project or dissertation

This substantial course will enable you to be at the forefront of your academic discipline through taught and research elements

These courses are for you if you are an existing practitioner in Audiology and are looking to gain particular skills or knowledge to perform your role more effectively, or to progress within this industry.

Where appropriate, our courses use our modern clinical skills laboratory which is equipped with the latest audiometric instruments, identical to those that you will use in practice; and computerised patients which helps you develop clinical skills.

Our distance learning courses use a virtual learning environment to provide access to comprehensive study materials.

Standalone modules:

These courses are for you if you are a science graduate wishing to pursue a career as a biomedical scientist. You can choose from a range topics, all of which are Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) accredited top-up modules.

These modules allow you to obtain the academic competencies that are required to apply to the Health Professions Council for Registration as a Biomedical Scientist. Many are available via distance learning, or as on campus programmes.

We have a long established record of producing high-quality pharmacy graduates – we are able to trace our roots back to 1895.
