A welcoming and multi-cultural learning experience for more than 10,000 students.

Aston is a friendly and diverse learning environment, home to a close-knit international campus community.

We have 2,500 international students from over 120 countries studying a wide range of subjects in our safe and friendly city centre campus. 

Applications from Kenyans are especially welcome, with postgraduate scholarships of between £2,500 and £5,000 available. Please see below.

Aston Excellence - £5,000
We are pleased to announce we will be offering Kenyan students the opportunity to make an application for an Aston Excellence Scholarship, entitling them to a £5,000 reduction on tuition fees. Full terms and conditions can be found here.  
 
Ferguson Foundation Scholarship 

Aston's school of Life & Health Sciences are offering 7 scholarships funded by the Ferguson Foundation to students from Africa and South America. Full details here.
 
Partner Awards
Kenyan students studying at Aston University partner institutions are eligible for a 10% discount on tuition fees. See here for more information.  

Alumni Bursary 

Aston Alumni qualify for an automatic 20% discount on tuition fees

Aston University's links with Kenya

Kenyan students have been studying at Aston for many years and each year we welcome many more new students. We currently have 21 Kenyan students studying at Aston University. 

Academic staff regularly visit Kenya to work with our partner institutions and to take part in international conferences.

Kenyan community on campus & in Birmingham

There is a very active African community on campus. There are a number of societies which may be of particular interest to African students. The African and caibbean Students' Society organises trips, cultural and social events.

There are also a number of societies which bring together students from similar religious backgrounds. Find out more about societies at Aston

Birmingham is a multi-cultural city and there is a strong African community. You'll find African restaurants, supermarkets, music, dance and more in the city.

Meet us in Kenya

Staff from the International Office visit Kenya several times per year to take part in education exhibitions, visit schools and colleges and to meet with students through our official representative offices.

Undergraduate

Students who hold KCSEs with good grades are eligible for entry onto the International Foundation Programme.

Students who have completed A-levels or the International Baccalaureate can progress directly into year 1 if the grades obtained meet the entry criteria for the programme.

English language requirements for undergraduate courses.

Postgraduate - Masters

You should have at least a 2:1 degree from a Kenyan university. If you are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

There are a number of conversion courses in the Business School which will accept students from any subject background.

Postgraduate - MBA 

You can come from any subject background, but should have at least a 2:1 degree from an Kenyan University and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial work experience, as stipulated by the Association of MBA (AMBA) requirements.

Postgraduate - Research 

Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more.
