Aston Excellence - £5,000

We are pleased to announce we will be offering Vietnamese students the opportunity to make an application for an Aston Excellence Scholarship, entitling them to a £5,000 on tuition fees.

Automatic Merit - £2,500 - £3,000

Vietnamese students achieving a 2:1 degree classification in the UK, or local equivalent, will automatically be awarded a scholarship of between £2,500 and £3,000.

Aston University's links with Vietnam

Vietnamese students have been studying at Aston for many years and each year we welcome many more new students. We currently have 55 Vietnamese students studying at Aston University.

Academic staff regularly visit Vietnam to work with our partner institutions and to take part in international conferences. Aston University is a member of the Sterling Group which arranges annual engineering lecture tours to Vietnam.

There is a very active Vietnamese community at Aston. There are a number of societies on campus which bring together students from similar religious backgrounds. Here you can find out more about societies at Aston

Staff from the International Office visit Vietnam several times per year to take part in British Council Education UK exhibitions, visit schools and colleges and to meet with students through our official representative offices.

International Foundation Programme

Students who have completed the Tot nghiep pho thong trung hoc (Secondary School Graduation Exam) will be required to study on our International Foundation Programme, which has streams available in Business/Social Sciences, Engineering, and Health Science/Science.  Find out more about our International Foundation Programme

Students who do not meet the English language requirement for their academic course study  can apply for one of our Preparatory English Programmes.

Students who have completed their Tot nghiep pho thong trung hoc (Secondary School Graduation Exam) will be required to complete a recognised Foundation Programme.

For entry to the Aston International Foundation Programme (IFP), we would require an minimum average of 7.5 - 8 (out of 10) for years 10 – 12.  Individual subject marks may also be required as well as evidence of your English language ability. 

English language requirements for undergraduate courses.

Postgraduate – Taught
You can apply for a 1 year masters programme with an undergraduate degree from a recognised Vietnamese University. 

You should have at least an overall average of 7.5+ (out of 10) from a recognised Vietnamese university.  The specific requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Vietnamese university from which you have graduated.

If you are applying for finance, engineering, science or social science based subjects; you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.  There are a number of Masters programmes in business and management which are appropriate for students from any subject background. 

English language requirements for postgraduate taught programmes.

Postgraduate - MBA
You can apply for the MBA programme with a recognised undergraduate degree, in any subject area, and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial / professional work experience. You should have a minimum average of 7.5 (out of 10)  from a recognised Vietnamese university.

Postgraduate - Research 

Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more. 

To apply for a research degree at Aston, you should have at least an overall average of 7.5+ (out of 10) from a recognised Vietnamese university. The specific requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Vietnamese university from which you have graduated.

In support of your application, you also must submit a detailed research proposal outlining your intended research topic, its objectives, proposed method of research and an indication of how the proposed research topic relates to previous work by other researchers. Find out more on Aston's Postgraduate research pages
