Aston is a friendly and diverse learning environment, home to a close-knit international campus community.

We have 2,500 international students from over 120 countries studying a wide range of subjects in our safe and friendly city centre campus. 

Applications from Iranians are especially welcome, with postgraduate scholarships of between £2,500 and £5,000 available. Please see below.

Aston Excellence - £5,000
We are pleased to announce we will be offering Iranian students the opportunity to make an application for an Aston Excellence Scholarship, entitling them to a £5,000 reduction on tuition fees. Full terms and conditions can be found here.  

Partner Awards 
Iranian students studying at Aston University partner institutions are eligible for a 10% discount on tuition fees. See here for more information.  

Alumni Bursary 

Aston Alumni qualify for an automatic 20% discount on tuition fees

Iranian students have been studying at Aston for many years and each year we welcome many more new students. We currently have 20 Iranian students studying at Aston University.

Iranian community on campus & in Birmingham

There is a very active Iranian community on campus. There are a number of societies which may be of particular interest to Iranian students. 

There are also a number of societies which bring together students from similar religious backgrounds. Find out more about societies at Aston

Birmingham is a multi-cultural city and there is a strong Iranian community. You'll find Iranian restaurants, supermarkets, music, dance and more in the city.

We will guarantee International Students on campus accommodation for the duration of their studies (subject to meeting our application deadline).

Our en-suite, on-campus, city centre apartments offer the perfect opportunity to integrate into out learning community and settle in Birmingham and England.

Students with 14/20, in their Diplom-e Mottevasseteh will be considered for entry onto the International Foundation Programme.  

Students with 15 or above in their Peeshdaneshgahe will be considered for Year 1 entry to Aston, depending on the subjects studied and the grades achieved 

English language requirements for undergraduate courses.


Students require at least 13 / 20 in the percentage point system from state / public universities, or at least 14 / 20 in the percentage point system from private universities, for entry on  to a Masters Programme

If you are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

There are a number of conversion courses in the Business School which will accept students from any subject background.

Postgraduate - MBA 

You can come from any subject background, but should have at least 13/ 20 from a university and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial work experience, as stipulated by the Association of MBA (AMBA) requirements.

Postgraduate - Research 

Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more.
