Chevening Scholarship

Aston University is proud to support the Chevening scholarship programme. Chevening scholarships are the UK government's global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations.

Chevening Awards are an important element in Britain’s public diplomacy effort and bring professionals, who have already displayed outstanding leadership talents, to study in the UK. The objective of Chevening is to support foreign policy priorities and achieve FCO objectives by creating lasting positive relationships with future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers.

Aston University's links with Poland

Polish students have been studying at Aston for many years and each year we welcome many more new students. We currently have 33 Polish students studying at Aston University.

Academic staff regularly visit Poland to work with our partner institution, Kozminski University and to take part in international conferences.

Polish community on campus & in Birmingham

CELCA English Language Tutorials

There is a very active Polish community in Birmingham. There are a number of societies which may be of particular interest to Polish students.

There are also a number of societies which bring together students from similar religious backgrounds. Find out more about societies at Aston

Birmingham is a multi-cultural city and there is a strong Polish community. You'll find Polish restaurants, supermarkets, music and more in the city.  Most supermarkets sell a range of Eastern European foods.

Aston is able to guarantee you University accommodation for the duration of your studies, providing you apply by the deadline each year.

The university isn’t huge so you do get to know the staff and the lecturers well and they are really approachable. The standard of teaching here is very high and there are great student facilities on campus such as the access to databases and IT facilities.

80% overall average with minimum 65% in standard level subjects and 70% in extended level subjects plus 6.5 IELTS 

IBML: Must have minimum of 70% in appropriate Modern Foreign Language at extended level

75% overall average with minimum 65% in standard level subjects and 70% in the appropriate subjects at extended level plus 6.0 IELTS

Life & Health Sciences

Pharmacy: 80% overall average with minimum 65% in standard level subjects and 70% in Chemistry, Biology and Maths at extended level plus 6.5 IELTS

Optometry: 80% overall average with minimum 65% in standard level subjects and 75% in the appropriate subjects at extended level plus 6.5 IELTS

Psychology : 75% overall average with minimum 65% in standard level subjects and 70% in Maths at extended level plus 6.5 IELTS

Biology and Biomedical Sciences: 60% overall average plus 6.5 IELTS.

Engineering and Science subjects will require specific subjects, but students from any stream can apply for courses in Aston Business School.

Postgraduate - Masters

You should hold a post-2003 Licenjat/Inzynier or a pre-2003 Magister with subject title plus hold a suitable English Language qualification. 

If you are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

There are a number of conversion courses in the Business School which will accept students from any subject background.

Postgraduate - MBA 

You can come from any subject background, but should hold a post-2003 Licenjat/Inzynier or a pre-2003 Magister with subject title and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial work experience, as stipulated by the Association of MBA (AMBA) requirements.

Postgraduate - Research 

Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more.
