Aston University provides a welcoming and multi-cultural learning experience to approximately 10,000 students, many of whom live on our safe and friendly city centre campus. The University has more than 2,300 international students from over 120 countries studying a wide range of subjects. We currently have over 50 Pakistani student studying at Aston University.

Meet us in Pakistan

Robin Reeves, International Officer, will be hosting an Aston University Information Session for new students, applicants and offer holders based in Islamabad who are looking to study in the UK in September 2014. The event will take place at the Serena Hotel on Monday 30th June 2014. Feel free to come along to the session to find out more about life at Aston. It is also an opportunity to speak to Aston graduates from Pakistan. The details are below:

There is a very active Pakistani community on campus. There are a number of societies which may be of particular interest to Pakistani students. The PakSoc organises cultural and social events. 

Birmingham is a multicultural city and there is a strong Pakistani community. You'll find Pakistani restaurants, supermarkets and more in the city.

Undergraduate

Students who have Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC or HSC) / Intermediate Certificate / Diploma of Faculty of Arts / Science (FA / FSc) will be required to complete a recognised Foundation Programme.  

For entry to the International Foundation Programme we would require an average 70% and above. Some degree programmes, such as engineering, sciences and languages, require specific subject backgrounds. 

Students with two year a Bachelor (Pass) of Arts/Commerce or Bachelor (Pass) in Science can be considered for year one entry. In general applicants should have an  average of 60-65% or higher.

English language requirements for undergraduate programmes.

Postgraduate - Taught

IApplicants should have a good three year Bachelor of Arts / Commerce (Honours) or Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from a recognised Pakistani university.  The specific percentage requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Pakistani university from which you have graduated. 

Students with a good four year Bachelors (Honours) degree may be considered for Postgraduate Taught programmes.

If you are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

English language requirements for taught postgraduate programmes.

Postgraduate - MBA 

You can apply for the MBA programme with an undergraduate degree, in any subject area, from an overseas institution and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial work experience. You should have a good three year Bachelor of Arts / Commerce (Honours) or Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree, and a Masters degree from a recognised Pakistani university.

Students with a good four year Bachelors (Honours) degree from a recognised Pakistani university may be considered for Postgraduate Taught programmes.

Postgraduate - Research 

Applicants should have a good three year Bachelor of Arts / Commerce (Honours) or Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from a recognised Pakistani university.  The specific percentage requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Pakistani university from which you have graduated. 

Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more. 

You have to submit a detailed research proposal outlining your intended research topic, its objectives, proposed method of research and an indication of how the proposed research topic relates to previous work by other researchers. Find out more on Aston's Postgraduate research pages
