Aston University provides a welcoming and multi-cultural learning experience to approximately 10,000 students, many of whom live on our safe and friendly city centre campus. The University has more than 2,300 international students from over 120 countries studying a wide range of subjects.

Aston University's links with Kuwait

Kuwaiti students have been studying at Aston for a number of years and each year we welcome many more new students. We currently have 11 Kuwaiti students studying at Aston University.

Academic staff regularly visit Kuwait to work with our partner institution, Centre for Child Evaluation & Teaching and to take part in international conferences.

Main Reception

There is a very active Arab community on campus. There are a number of societies which may be of particular interest to Kuwaiti students. The Arab Soc organises cultural and social events. Find out more about societies at Aston..

Birmingham is a multi-cultural city and there is a strong Arabic community. You'll find Arabic restaurants, supermarkets, music, dance and more in the city.

Staff from the International Office visit Kuwait several times per year to take part in British Council Education UK Exhibitions, visit schools and colleges and to meet with students through our official representative offices.

Undergraduate

Students who have studied Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama with 80% overall and 80% in related subjects are eligible to apply for the International Foundation Programme. 

Students who have completed an associate degree may be eligble to enter into the first year of the degree, however this will be based on an individual basis.

Postgraduate - Masters

You should have a high GPA from a relevant Bachelors degree for postgradaute admission. 

If you are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

There are a number of conversion courses in the Business School which will accept students from any subject background.

Postgraduate - MBA 
You can come from any subject background, but should have at least a high GPA from a relevant Bachelors degree and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial work experience, as stipulated by the Association of MBA (AMBA) requirements.

Postgraduate - Research
 

Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more.
