About Birmingham

We think Birmingham is an absolutely amazing city to be a student in. It's got one of the youngest populations in Europe and it's currently seeing unprecedented change, as billions of pounds are being invested in the city.

Birmingham also has a rich history which makes it unique and inspiring.

Some of our favourite things about Birmingham

Independent Birmingham is our favourite guide to explore the city’s lesser-known aspects and find its best kept secrets. It's a platform that celebrates the independent culture, one of the many things that make Birmingham unique.

If you're a fan of independent coffee shops, bars, restaurants, shops, this is the best place to start discovering the city.
I Choose Birmingham is our favourite e-mail subscription that keeps us up to date with the best in culture, food, bars, films, entertainment and exhibitions, in and around Birmingham.
IGersBirmingham, or Instagramers of Birmingham, is the official Instagram account for the Birmingham branch of the global Instagramers movement.

The Instagramers (IGers) movement was created with the aim of helping photographers to improve their skills, and quickly evolved into developing photographic communities around the world that were linked through a single social network (Instagram). A key part of the IGers movement, and what makes it different to many other Instagram accounts, is that they have communities that are active offline as well as online.

IGersBirmingham organise events, meet ups and exhibitions, which are perfect for any Birmingham newbie to start getting to know this beautiful city better.

Below are some of the photos of Birmingham posted by the members of the community. You can follow them here.
