Research Support

The research support team can help with any special IT requirements you may have in your research.  We have expertise in both hardware and software, including:

  • The setup and support of specialised hardware to support high performance and high throughput computing. 

  • High performance filestore to provide access to data for processing and archiving.

  • A research repository and other tools to support co-operation between research groups either within the University or with other organisations.

  • Advice about access to external high performance computing facilities such as HECToR, the UK National Supercomputing Service.

  • Setting up and providing support for specialised research software and helping researchers identify appropriate software.

  • Custom programming and modifications to legacy software.
