MAP is an online portal that allows staff and students to view LIVE student information from the student record system, finance and accommodation systems in one single place and carry out a range of interactive functions. It provides a secure central point where information can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
There are two versions of MAP; one for staff and one for students.
The information you can see on MAP will be determined by your role and what you require access to. However, some of the typical information you could see includes:
Student Details Lookup This allows you to search for a particular student using either their name or student number and access information including:
Personal details - address, contact details etc
Financial account with the University – outstanding fees etc
Programme information – degree course, modules taken and method of assessment
Teaching and examination timetables
Provisional assessment marks where released
Historical programme information
Module Details Lookup This allows you to search for a particular course module and view:
Details of the module - including module owner and credit value
List of students taking module - including individual and group e-mail addresses, reassessment status
List of student photographs for the students taking the module
Degree programme transfer Used mainly by administrative staff, this function allows you to move a student from one degree course to another.
Release results Results for qualifying and final year students can be released via MAP for staff and viewed by students through the student portal.
