Foundation Year

Foundation Year in Engineering and Applied Science at Aston

The Foundation Year within the School of Engineering and Applied Science is designed for students from a wide range of backgrounds who have an interest and a passion for Engineering, the Applied Sciences and Computing.

The course attract entrants who, for whatever reasons, do not have qualifications at the expected level or in appropriate subjects for admission to the first year of Aston’s degree course, Our Foundation Year aims to fully prepare students with the knowledge and skills in mathematics, science, and to progress onto a degree course here at Aston University.

There are two Foundation Year courses:

These courses have been developed over fifteen years and have equipped many students with the specific skills and knowledge to successfully complete programmes in Engineering and Applied Science.

The courses cater for UK, EU and international students. Specialist provision is provided for international students who do not have English language skills at the right level for direct admission to the first year of Aston’s degree courses.
