Dr Beevers' main research activities lie in the areas of polymer chemistry/physics and liquid crystals. Current interests are molecular modelling, the calculation and measurement of electro-optical properties of polymers and low-molecular weight molecules (using the statistical matrix algebra methods developed by Paul Flory and others); molecular relaxation phenomena, including dielectric spectroscopy, the dynamic electro-optical Kerr effect; and their simulation using computers.
