Dr Neil Gordon

I joined the Royal Signals and Radar Establishment in Malvern in 1981 after completing a BSc. in Physics (first class) and a PhD. in semiconductor device physics, both at the University of St. Andrews. I worked for 30 years at RSRE and successor organisations, initially in infrared detector physics and later in infrared systems, publishing over 90 papers, 17 patent applications and 5 book chapters. During this period, I was awarded a QinetiQ fellowship and appointed a Fellow of the Institute of Physics.

In 2013, I joined Aston Institute of Photonics Technologies (AIPT) as a Research Fellow in Industrial Photonics looking at industrial applications of photonics. This has now led to further industrial work with Airbus.

  • BSc with First Class Honours in Physics, University of St. Andrews, 1977
