Everything is getting digital nowadays, so why should money be any different?  This talk briefly reviews the development of money (digital and otherwise) and then dives into Bitcoin, an anonymous, decentralized digital currency based on cryptography. Apart from the purely technical aspects, we will also look at the "bigger picture" which shapes the ecosystem of this real-world system - trust, stability/volatility, and human behaviour.  We'll also briefly look at another (centralized, non-anonymous) digital currency in order to flesh out the common properties of digital money in general.
