University regulations allow two forms of assessment with regards to placement assessment:
Either the placement year assessment generates a mark which is worth typically 10% of the final degree.
Or the placement is assessed on a Pass/Fail basis and does not contribute numerically to the final degree.
In both cases your final degree certificate will show that you have satisfactorily completed your degree "with Professional Placement". You must pass the placement year to be allowed to proceed to the next stage of your programme.
