Professor Sweeney visits the logistics laboratory at ZJSU

Professor Ed Sweeney was a guest this week at Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJSU) in China. ZJSU is located in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province and a major strategically located logistics hub. Its emphasis on employability of its graduates and on working in close collaboration with business and industry means that it has a strong cultural alignment with Aston.

ZJSU has developed particular strengths in logistics and supply chain management (SCM) across various of its Schools and successfully offers undergraduate programmes in logistics. Part of this capability is a result of a well established relationship with the UK-based Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). ZJSU is one of a small number of universities in China approved to run the CILT’s professional education programmes. It has recognised the need to expand its offerings into the postgraduate area and is seeking a high quality Western partner to support this development.

ESM is actively exploring a variety of collaboration opportunities with ZJSU in relation to logistics research and undergraduate student exchange, as well as in postgraduate education.
