National Express Foundation & Aston University Partnership
Following a winning bid to the National Express Foundation (NEFB), Aston University has been awarded funding to provide up to thirty £1,000 student bursaries over a four year period, starting in academic year 2016/17.
Up to eight bursaries will be awarded each year in 2016/17, and 2017/18 and up to seven bursaries each year in 2018/19 and 2019/20.
The Bursaries will provide additional funding for living expenses for young adult carers from our student community who are from low income backgrounds and are studying an undergraduate degree. The bursaries will primarily be awarded to undergraduates whose home address (permanent address) is from one of these geographical areas :
Applications from students whose home address is outside these areas may still be considered on a case by case basis, if all other eligibility criteria are met.
We would not normally accept applications from students who are repeating all or part of an academic year. However where academic failure can be attributed to caring responsibilities, applications may be considered on a case by case basis.
