About the Student Ambassador Scheme

The Aston University Schools and Colleges Liaison Office provides help for prospective students, parents, teachers and careers advisers looking for further information on all aspects of the University, and Higher Education in general. We run a number of events throughout the year and employ student ambassadors to help these events run smoothly.

As a student ambassador you will be working with young people, usually aged between 13-18 years. Your aim will be to support and encourage prospective students to think about and aspire to University. The job is varied and you can take part in a number of activities as part of the scheme.

Core duties will  include: showing prospective students and their parents around the University on organised Campus Tours, helping out at the main pre-application Open Days, assisting visitors at post-application Open Days and helping the Schools Liaison team to run incoming school visits. Some ambassadors may also visit schools to give presentations and help run workshops; others may attend Higher Education Conventions and Careers Fairs as a representative of Aston University. As an ambassador, you are able to choose the type of work that you wish to take part in, at a time that is convenient for you. Full training will be given at the start of the academic year.
