File Storage (Saving Work)

As part of your computing account you have access to a secure personal folder (H: Drive), also called your 'home drive' where you should save your work.

Your home drive is accessed through the My Computer icon on the desktop of any computer lab.

You must NOT save any of your work to the C:Drive or directly to the Desktop, these drives are located on the local computer and have their content RESET every time the computer is logged out, hence any work saved here WILL BE LOST.

Backups

Data on your home drive is only accessible by you and is held securely.  We would however, recommend that you keep your own personal backup, especially for very important work like group projects or dissertations.

Virus Scanning

All of the computers within the University are routinely scanned and cleared of viruses.
