Advice on careers and other issues

Aston's research students are offered information and advice on many issues that are related to their research and careers. These include:

  • Careers advice.

Aston University Careers provides advice and support for research students through our workshop and short course programme. Careers also offers individual consultation through its team of Careers Advisers. If you would like to book an appointment to see a Careers Adviser, this is done online through the Careers Centre website at www.aston.ac.uk/careers.

The Careers website has information about events and vacancies, video clips on relevant topics and links to further resources. A useful resource for research students within the website is Career Management Online which is designed to help you manage your career from university to work and beyond.

  • Research funding and studentships.

  • Support with statistics and statistical analysis

If your research project entails the use of quantitative approaches and methods with which you have limited prior experience, you are strongly advised to access support early in the planning and design stages.

If you would like to book an appointment with a tutor please complete this form and email it to the ResearcherPlus team.
