Evaluation of Facebook as a Staff-Student Feedback Mechanism

Student feedback via Staff-Student consultative committee (SSCC) is a fundamental part of the evaluation of programme quality. In IDS we have had a long tradition of poor student engagement with the Combined Honours SSCC at the programme level. An initial preliminary survey taken of combined honours students suggests that Facebook maybe an effective alternative to SSCC. This project will pilot and evaluate the use of an IDS Facebook “presence” as a means for Combined Honours students to feedback and communicate with IDS (staff) and may replace the ineffective SSCC setup that is presently being used.
