Postgraduate Diploma in Learning & Teaching in Higher Education

This part time, work-based programme will be available to those members of Aston staff who have completed the PGCert at Aston or who have a PGCert in Learning & Teaching from another HEI (through the recognition of prior learning process).

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be possible for those who do not hold a PGCert, if you would like to enquire about this please contact Dr Sarah Hayes.

The PGDip programme will be delivered in three consecutive 20 credit modules with the proposed titles:

  • 'Promoting quality processes in academic programmes'
  • 'Enhancing academic provision through University-wide collaboration'
  • 'Designing technology into campus-based and distance learning programmes'
Each module will be delivered with a blend of taught sessions (equal to three days per module) and participant-guided activities; assessment is designed to be practice-facing to enhance work-place skills, knowledge and competency.


A further 60 credit, fully supported independent participant negotiated study will lead to a Masters award (M.Ed).
