Learning Development Centre

Our Learning and Development Centre offer support online, to help you get ahead at Aston- resources and advice to help you get the most out of university academically, including getting the most out of lectures, managing group work, independent learning and the skills you need to develop for university.

You may find it useful to take a look through the Get Ahead site before the beginning of term.

Our large, well-stocked on-campus Library is open 7 days a week (24 hours a day, 6 days a week during key revision and exam periods).

The Library has many services to help you adjust to University life. During Aston Welcome you will be able to take part in Like Your Library Live - introducing you to the support services, showing you how to take out books and use printers. Your time slot will be listed on your Compulsory Academic Timetable

Academic Arrival Guides

When you arrive in September you will be able to speak to our Academic Arrival Guides who will give you an insight into how your Academic Department is run, how you will be assessed, where the various amenities are located and can answer any other academic queries.

The Mentoring scheme at Aston University matches students from different year groups together in one to one mentoring relationships. Your mentor will be someone who has just been through the same stage as you, who can share their knowledge and experiences and give you handy tips at every step of your time at Aston University.
