IMechE £2000 Placement Bursary for SMEs


IMechE Placement

A collaboration between IMechE and Aston University sees the launch of a unique funding opportunity for small businesses. 

SMEs can benefit from a £2000 bursary for each undergraduate student they recruit from IMechE accredited courses including Mechanical Engineering, Product Design + Electromechanical degrees for anything between 6 -12 months.

Product Design + Management student

  • Design Engineer for market leader in air movement
  • Industry skilled in CAD, SolidWorks, Photoshop Illustrator
  • Experienced at liaising with consultants, contractors and end users 

Mechanical Engineering student

  • Previously worked for a global technology leader in power management solutions
  • Skilled in SolidWorks, Matlab & Arduino
  • Study modules - Design & Experimentation, Prototyping and Engineering for Industry

Industrial Product Design student

  • Design portfolio including electric race car chassis, portable wind turbine and eye strain sensor
  • Skills for industry including IPR, standard and technical drawing
  • SolidWorks, enjoys 3D modelling process with CSWP qualification soon to be obtained

Mechanical Engineering + Design student

  • Skilled in 3D mechanical design, Finite Element Analysis and C programming
  • Confident in using computer generated modelling software SolidWorks
  • Study modules including Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Materials, Solid Mechanics
