McCann Birmingham Renews Partnership with Aston Business School

Keith Glanfield and Nick Oppenheimer

Communication agency, McCann Birmingham, has announced the renewal of its sponsorship of Aston Business School’s New Strategic Brand Management module.

The new module designed to enhance students’ learning experience and increase graduate employability, will receive support and practitioners insight for a second academic year.

The renewal of the partnership follows the success of the inaugural sponsorship, in which a programme of learning was developed that incorporates theory, research, specialist view points and real-world application.

This year’s programme will consist of various collaborative learning activities, including a series of practitioner lectures delivered by McCann in the fields of digital marketing, media strategy, creative communications, insight & research and communication integration.

Keith Glanfield, module leader of the New Strategic Brand Management, said; “Partnering with McCann Birmingham has certainly proven to be a valuable, inspiring and substantially beneficial programme for our students, and we’re delighted that the relationship is continuing.”

Nick Oppenheimer, head of planning at McCann Birmingham said; “Aston Business School is one of the UK’s leading business schools with a prestigious reputation both nationally and internationally.  We’re delighted to be working with this great institution for a second year and are looking forward to continuing to provide students with a valuable and engaging springboard into the workplace.  The partnership is about providing Aston’s students with greater employment prospects, with a view to developing young business leaders of the future.”

Students on last year’s programme won awards from McCann Birmingham for their involvement in a live project, for McCann client, Birmingham-based coach company, National Express.

This year’s Aston Business School students will also benefit from a similar case study exercise, which will continue to provide detailed, real-life insight into the marketing sector and further enhance their chances of employability upon leaving university.
