A team of business and IT students from Aston University have set up a limited company, Aston Community Consulting, offering free of charge business consultancy services to local small businesses.
The students are all part of ‘SIFE Aston’ which is a local branch of the international non-profit organisation Students in Free Enterprise. SIFE encourages university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders.
The team at Aston have decided to offer their business consultancy services mainly to small local businesses as they believe they are at the heart of every community. Their aim is to work alongside local community businesses to improve their performance, increase profits and make them more sustainable, benefiting not only the business owners but the customers of the business and the local community more widely.
The students are studying a range of business related subjects and can offer know-how in areas including corporate strategy, supply chain management, operations management, marketing, finances and IT.
Lukas Roth, Founder of Aston Community Consulting Limited and Co-President at SIFE Aston said, ‘we are really excited about this new venture as it gives us a great opportunity to use the skills we have acquired during our studies to benefit local businesses and the wider community.’
